CAN Africa strongly condemns the current situation in Iran and stands in full solidarity with the people of Iran and the people of the Middle East who continue to suffer the consequences of this escalating conflict. The loss of lives, destruction of communities, and growing instability in the region are deeply concerning and demand urgent global attention.
CAN Africa condemns the unilateral actions of the United States and Israel, which have further heightened tensions and contributed to the continuation of this illegal war. Such actions undermine international law, weaken multilateral cooperation, and threaten global peace and stability.
We therefore call for an immediate halt to the war and urge all parties to respect and adhere to international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter. The protection of civilian lives, respect for sovereignty, and commitment to diplomacy must remain the guiding principles in resolving this crisis.
CAN Africa reiterates its solidarity with the people of Iran and the wider Middle East and calls on the international community to act responsibly, prioritise dialogue over confrontation, and work collectively toward peace, justice, and the restoration of international law and order.
